## Two Visits, With a Planned Return

Our Mite Treatment service is a two-visit plan for your backyard chicken coop—not a two-day treatment. The first visit includes observation of the flock and coop, removal of old bedding and debris, and treatment directed by the current product label.

We return 30 days later to review flock and coop conditions, complete the follow-up cleanup routine, and adjust care recommendations based on what we see. You’ll also receive practical monitoring guidance. Have questions before booking? Call our care team at 888-629-3370 to talk through the plan.

Thoughtful flock care

Why two visits?

A planned return, not a one-and-done promise.

1

Visit one: inspect + clean + treat

We start by removing your chickens to a safe temporary space, then clear out old bedding and debris. We inspect the flock and coop, then apply Elector® PSP into cracks, crevices, roosts, and nesting areas only as directed by the current product label.

2

Thirty days later: review + follow-up

We return to reassess the flock and coop conditions. As part of the cleanup routine, we use First Saturday Lime where appropriate and adjust care recommendations based on what we see.

3

Keep watch together

You receive practical monitoring guidance. Persistent or severe concerns may require veterinary or licensed pest-management help.

How it works

Clean first, treat second, keep flock safety front and center.

1

Clean

Remove bedding, sweep surfaces, and clear debris from nesting boxes, roosts, and floors.

2

Treat

Spray Elector® PSP into cracks, crevices, roosts, and nesting areas as the label directs for the target pest and use site.

3

Dry & ventilate

Allow the coop to dry and air out fully before chickens are allowed back inside.

4

Return

Bring your flock back only when we confirm the environment is safe for them.

Safety first

Your chickens stay safe while we work.

We follow a clear safety routine so your flock is never exposed to cleaning solutions or treatment products during application.

  • All chickens are removed from the coop before cleaning or product application begins.
  • We clear old bedding, droppings, and debris so the treatment reaches cracks and hiding spots.
  • Elector® PSP is applied according to the current product label, with attention to ventilation and drying time.
  • Chickens stay out of the coop until the space is dry, ventilated, and safe for re-entry per label guidance.
  • We let you know when it is safe to return your flock and how to keep the area protected during drying.

Product-label care matters

Elector® PSP is an Elanco product containing spinosad and registered with the EPA (Reg. No. 72642-2). Its label includes direct poultry application for northern fowl mites. It carries the signal word CAUTION. We follow the current label; it is the law and final authority on use, precautions, and environmental protections.

## Precautions and Follow-Up Expectations

Before cleaning or product application begins, chickens are moved out of the coop to a temporary space. We remove old bedding and debris, follow the current product label for application, and keep chickens out during the work. Re-entry follows the label’s guidance, including applicable drying and ventilation requirements.

The return visit is a chance to reassess conditions—not a promise that every mite concern will be resolved. First Saturday Lime is used where appropriate as part of the follow-up cleanup routine. Persistent or severe concerns may require help from a veterinarian or licensed pest-management professional.
